Strictly Come Dancing fears after staff passes posted online

Angela Rippon spills Strictly Come Dancing secret

Strictly Come Dancing has reportedly suffered yet another security setback just days before the first live show after a picture of a staff pass was allegedly posted online.

This weekend, the 15 celebrity contestants will take to the dancefloor for the first time with their professional dancers.

However, BBC bosses have been sent into a panic once again after it was reported a set of top-level security has been compromised.

According to reports, a crew member posted a picture of their pass to tens of thousands of people online with a source calling it a “huge blunder”.

The insider told The Sun: “This was a huge security blunder. Having what the passes look like out there puts the celebrities at massive risk.

“Anyone could copy a pass and get access to the production putting the stars at potential risk of harm. It’s a massive security breach.”

A Strictly spokesperson declined to comment, insisting the show “doesn’t comment on security matters”.

Express.co.uk has contacted BBC for a comment.

Strictly is filmed before a live studio audience with both Saturday’s live show and Sunday’s results show being filmed all in one go.

Only a select few people know which celebrity is eliminated from the competition week to week, but the results are often leaked on social media hours before viewers are able to watch.

It has recently been claimed that Strictly bosses have implemented new rules for all involved, dedicated to try and fined the “mole” once and for all.

A source told The Daily Mail: “Enough is enough, it isn’t fair on the fans, they look forward to tuning in to see who will be dancing together.

“Now procedures are being put in place to see if the mole can be caught though it’s tricky because there are so many people involved with Strictly but the bosses are determined to nail he or she.”

The celebrities taking part in this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing are, Angela Rippon, Amanda Abbington, Layton Williams, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Eddie Kadi, Angela Scanlon, Zara McDermott, Adam Thomas, Nikita Kanda, Ellie Leach, Jody Cundy, Bobby Brazier, Nigel Harman, Annabel Croft and Les Dennis.

Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday 16, at 6.35pm on BBC One.
