Fleur East reveals new acting role
Fleur East has landed an exciting new TV role starring in the BBC teen drama Pheonix Rise.
The singer-turned-presenter will be playing the part of an inspirational music teacher in series three and four of the school drama.
Fleur appeared on Good Morning Britain this morning to announce her new role.
Speaking to Kate Garraway, Fleur, 36, said: “I’m playing the role of Miss Meesha in the BBC drama Pheonix Rise.”
She went on to explain: “I’m a music teacher in the school, very passionate about my students, and wanting to nurture their talent. It’s an amazing character to play, really good fun.”

Fleur recently replaced Rylan Clark as presenter on the Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two.
Fleur, who competed with professional partner Vito Coppola in the 2022 series, now presents the show alongside professional dancer Janette Manrara.
Rylan quit the show earlier this year in a heartfelt message that read: “After four fantastic years it’s time for me to hang up my glittery jacket and say goodbye to It Takes Two.
“I’ve had the best time hosting the show alongside Janette and Zoe and I can’t thank the amazing team enough for always putting on a great show. I’ve been welcomed into the Strictly family and will firmly hold that title dear to me.”

Fleur, who first rose to fame in 2014 when she took part in X-Factor, also posted the good news to Instagram.
Sharing a picture of her in character with her 816,000 followers, she captioned the image: “So much to be grateful for in recent times. My family, my friends, opportunities that I honestly can’t even call ‘work’ and my health and happiness.”
She added: “One of my most recent updates includes an acting role that I’m excited to share with you! I will be joining the cast of the BBC Drama ‘Phoenix Rise’ as music teacher Miss Meesha for series 3 & 4 which will air next year. Hard work really does pay off and I’m so grateful for the chance to explore my passions and have fun while doing it. We rarely take time to be thankful, even for the smallest things.”
Before signing off, asking her fans: “What are you grateful for?”
Fans rushed to the comment section to share their excitement at the new job with one writing: “Lovely update, thanks for sharing Fleur! Can’t wait to see you in the new drama, I’ll definitely be watching!”
