Their first red carpet appearance as a couple occurred at the Radio 1's Big Weekend Launch Party the following month. In a tweet last August, Amber hinted at her personal journey, mentioning "switching teams" and describing it as "the best decision" of her life while critiquing the male contestants on the 2022 Love Island series.
Then, in September of this year, Amber opened up about her realization while watching old clips from her Love Island series, which she won with Greg O'Shea. She candidly shared her thoughts on the YouTube series Queerpiphany, saying, "I watched back on the shows that I've been on, and I'm like, 'God, you're so gay! You really are really gay!' If I get some clips up on TikTok, it's so painfully obvious, everyone's like, 'Oh, you're just really picky.
"You're just this, you're just that.' And I'm like, 'No, I just like girls.' But it just something wasn't clicking in my brain. I just wasn't getting it." Amber went on Love Island in 2019 and sparked a romance with Michael Griffiths before he brutally dumped her after his head turned in Casa Amor.
She then went on to embark on a romance with Greg O'Shea in the villa – but things didn't last long between the pair after they won the series and scooped the £50,000 cash prize.
