My partner has five kids I had no idea about – Im pregnant with our third

A woman’s world turned upside down after her partner made a damning confession that “flipped her life on its head”.

While pregnant with their third child, he admitted something that made her never want to see him again.

The couple already has two children, and the man told her that before her, he had no other kids because he was “busy with work”. However, this could not be further from the truth.

In a post on Mumsnet, she expressed her fury. The anonymous poster: “I’m so bl**** mad I don’t even know what to do! My partner isn’t from the UK, he’s from Malta, but for most of his adult life lived in Norway and Denmark, always tells me he just loved London and that’s why he moved here six years ago.

“He’s 51, we have two children (four and 22 months) and I’m 18 weeks pregnant, he says he always wanted a big family and never had kids as work was so busy – well what a whole load of stupid lies!

“Tonight he sat me down and told me he had to confess – right ok? HE HAS FIVE CHILDREN. Yes, that’s right – he has five kids back in Denmark, ages 24, 22, 21, 20, and 18. The four eldest are in London this weekend and want to see him for the first time in six years!!!!! WHAT?”

She added that she was “so so mad” and questioned everything he had ever told her about his life. She was not even sure if he was an only child, or if his parents were dead like he claimed.

Her partner went on to tell her he had kept in touch with his children and had been sending them money.

The poster was so horrified by his confession that she never wanted to see him again.

“I’ve sent him to a bloody hotel I never want to see his face again – why would he do this?!! I don’t even want him near our kids – what’s he going to do not see them for six years and traumatise them too?”

She asked for help from the forum, stating she does not think she can recover from this, but worries for the welfare of her children.

“What do I do now? We can’t recover from this right?”

Other Mumsnetters were understandably horrified by the man’s behaviour.

One questioned if he was married before, and they said: “My first question would be why did he lie to you? What’s the point? What happened to the mother of his children? Did you know he was married before?”

While another empathised and worried for the woman’s mental health.

“B****** hell, I really don’t know what to say,” they said. “Do you have any support IRL? You must be reeling from this. Sending you most unmumsnetty hugs.”
