Sara Davies competed in Strictly Come Dancing in 2021 and recently admitted her experience on the show prepared her to be a judge on the Ultimate Wedding Planner.

Eight budding wedding planners entered the competition which saw them plan six ambitious themed weddings for real-life couples across the series.

When asked what the best and most challenging part of being a judge was, Sara told Express.co.uk and other press: “I know that exactly.

“it was the bit when we went back to HQ and they’re all staring at you because their future hangs in your balance.

“They want that feedback and do you know what, I don’t think I would have had, I wouldn’t have appreciated it if I hadn’t done Strictly the year before.

“I have been where they have been, looking at those judges, wanting to hear their feedback but also knowing I might not be here this week if you decide I am not good enough.

“So I was upset for them and honestly I couldn’t sleep the night before HQ every week, I was so upset for them and then we had to say to them, ‘there is no “I” in team,’ and they took the feedback on board.

“Then sending someone home. There were some weeks where they were stood there looking at us and we still couldn’t agree on who had to go because it was that close.”

After a tough couple of weeks, Chantelle, a former Belfast hairdresser went head-to-head in an intense final with Toby Hawker, a former dancer from London.

In the end, it was Chantelle who came out on top and won the series, explaining: “Winning Ultimate Wedding Planner means the world to me.

“I gave it my all and I’m so happy with everything I achieved. I learnt so much from the judges and I’m now better equipped and more experienced than ever to launch my own business.

“The motivation and confidence this show has given me is unreal and I can’t wait to see what happens next. It’s been life-changing.”

Sara praised: “Watching Chantelle grow into the planner she became by the end of this process was such a huge privilege.

“In the final, Chantelle ran a perfect wedding and delivered a bespoke personal experience worthy of winning.

“The competition was tough as all eight of the wedding planners are really talented, but Chantelle just gave us a little extra which makes her a very credible winner. She’s going to be a wedding planning superstar.”
