Peter Beale (Thomas Law) finally returned to Walford in recent EastEnders scenes, after learning a shocking family truth.
It was recently revealed that Peter had been living in France with parents Ian and Cindy Beale (Adam Woodyatt and Michelle Collins), after learning that his mum was still alive and had been living in witness protection for the past 25 years.
However, there were more shocks for Peter still to face, and he soon stumbled across them in recent episodes.
Back in Walford, Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) broke the news to her dad and sister that she had been given mum Rose’s number by the private investigator she had hired to track her down.
Dad George (Colin Salmon) was furious, and broke the upsetting news that he had had Rose’s number this whole time, and she just didn’t want to be found.

Though he and Gina (Francesca Henry) were both upset, Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) helped them to have a change of heart as she explained that Anna probably had a lot of questions about her mum’s disappearance nine years ago.
After getting George’s blessing to contact her, Anna left a message for her mum, revealing that she knew she’d lied about her identity and wanted to know who she really was.
Viewers will know that Rose Knight is the identity Cindy Beale adopted after going into witness protection, but now that her protection is over she is able to resume her life a Cindy.
After not hearing back from her mum, Anna sent a scathing text admitting that if she couldn’t be bothered to reply, then they didn’t need her in their lives.
It wasn’t long before the text was picked up, thought not by Cindy…
Having received a call from Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) informing him that Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) was selling the chip shop, Peter wondered if he should go back to Walford to help sort out the situation.
Ian was dead against the idea, knowing that George and Cindy’s girls were now living in the Queen Vic, and made excuses why he couldn’t go.
However, Peter soon became adamant about the trip after picking up an intriguing message on Cindy’s phone.
After reading the text from Anna that referred to Cindy as her mum, Peter couldn’t contain his curiosity and was soon listening to the message, which revealed that Anna was living in Albert Square.
Confused, Peter turned to Ian, who had no choice but to explain Cindy’s secret family.
Reeling from the revelation that he has two sisters, Peter immediately booked a slot on the Eurostar and headed off to London, much to Ian’s horror.
After arriving in Walford, he headed straight to the Queen Vic, where he came face to face with Gina and Anna for the first time.
Will he tell them who he really is, or will the secret remain hidden?
