Neighbours star Mischa Barton is considering a permanent move to the UK and is in talks for a starring role in a huge West End show.
The former OC star, 37, exclusively told OK! how she has been house hunting in and around the capital and is hoping to make it the next place she can call home.
Speaking to us exclusively at the Zara Muse art exhibition in London, she said, “I’m thinking about moving to London permanently and have already been looking at houses. I’ve got a very exciting meeting coming up about a role in a West End show. I can’t say too much about it unfortunately, but it would be a dream for me if I got the part."
And Mischa will be in good company if she were to set up home in London. She enjoyed mingling with original London IT girls Jodie Kidd and Leah Wood at the private viewing held at Grove Gallery.
She also hit it off with former Made in Chelsea star Ollie Locke, and the pair were seen cooing over pictures of his new twins Apollo Magnus Obi and Cosima Emily Bex, who were born on July 8.
Mischa, who was born in London but moved to New York at five years old, also rubbed shoulders with TV presenter Alex Jones ahead of her appearance on The One Show on Monday, 18 September, to promote the long-awaited return of the popular Australian soap.
Mischa joined Neighbours for a guest stint after it was taken over by Amazon Freevee from Channel 5 last year. She plays “mysterious” character Reece Sinclair and in her first scenes she is seen in a steamy clinch with Lassiter’s Hotel employee Byron Stone (Xavier Molyneux).
Despite it not being a permanent role for the actress, Mischa did hint the door has been left open for her character to return.
Speaking to Sky News, she said “I've done my piece, but I mean, it's left so that the character can come back. In true Neighbours style, there's always the option there and anything can really happen with. She leaves things behind in Australia so it's definitely a possibility. It's not wrapped up.”
It’s the first big role for the American star, best known for playing Marissa Cooper in the hit teen drama of the noughties. She said after landing the gig, “I’m excited to be part of this iconic show’s next chapter, and I am really looking forward to being back in Australia – a place I know and love!”
