The latest series ofLove Island mayhave only been over for a month, but talk has already turned to future seasons. On the back of former contestantsAdam Collard andKady McDermott re-entering the Love Island villa, earlier this week it was announced that Love Island All Stars would be launching on our screens.

After first being announced on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, the official Love Island Twitter account then shared a snap of the villa alongside the message: “The rumours are true! [yellow heart emoji] #LoveIsland: All Stars is coming soon…”

As part of the show, viewers will see contestants from seasons gone by attempting to find love again in the infamous ITV2 villa.

While a specific date for the show’s launch has yet to be revealed, Mike Spencer, Creative Director at Lifted Entertainment has said that it will be hitting our screens in a matter of months.

“It has been rumoured now for a while but we are thrilled to finally confirm that we are making Love Island: All Stars early next year for ITV2 and ITVX,” he said.

“It's set to be a must watch series seeing some of your favourite Islanders from across the years heading back to the stunning South African villa to once again 'graft' as their search for love continues. I simply can't wait!”

According to theMailOnline, Megan Barton Hanson is reportedly believed to be taking part andGeorgia Steel is allegedly high on the wishlist.

And back in February when rumours about the show first started to circulate,The Sun claimed thatproducers had a “wishlist” of ex-islanders they were hoping would be willing to return.

The list is reported to include Sophie Piper, who is the younger sister of The Saturdays' Rochelle Humes,Scott Thomas andKem Cetinay.

Meanwhile, other contestants have opened up about their time on Love Island and appear to have ruled themselves out of the possibility of returning to the show.

While she may have made a mark on the Love Island villa as a bombshell back in 2019 and while she may have secured a presenting role on Love Island USA,Maura Higgins has said she “can’t see” herself taking part in the show again as a contestant.

“I can’t see myself ever doing that again, no… I don’t really want to go back in time, I want to look to the future,” she toldGoss.ie.

And Kady McDermott, who has appeared on the show twice, spoke to Sam Thompson and Pete Wick on their Staying Relevant podcast about the prospect of an All Stars series. “I’ve had enough, I’m retired for the year. I’ll leave that one,” she said.

Like Kady, Adam Collard has appeared on the show twice though has also ruled out an appearance on the All Stars spin-off. “There is no inclination to do it right now. I think the second time very much took a lot of energy away from me,” he toldThe Sun.

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, winner of the Love Island 2022 series, is another contestant who has shared her thoughts on participating in Love Island All Stars. Speaking toMailOnline, she said: “No I’m not doing that, no. To me Love Island is a one time thing and I’ve done that.”
