Dancing On Ice's 2024 cast has yet another injury to contend with, as another of the celebrity contestants has been struck down by a painful training problem.
Amber Davies has revealed that she tore her quad muscle this week in her Instagram Stories, where she also showed a treatment she was having in hopes of getting back on the ice as quickly as possible.
West End star and former Love Island winner Amber, 27, is currently touring the UK as the star of Pretty Woman the musical, while also trying to balance training with Dancing On Ice partner Simon Sénécal ahead of the show's new year launch.
Posing in her costume as Vivian Ward from the musical, Amber wrote from her dressing room: "Tore my Quad on Monday (grade one luckily). And the show must go on as they say… Big thank you to @olliesavile for holding me up half the week when I needed it the most."
She also added a view from a treatment room of her leg being tended to, with Simon looking on as she wrote: "Back on the ice tomorrow for some softer training with my main man @simsenecal. Ey what doesn't kill ya makes you stronger."
Amber isn't the only 2024 cast member to have suffered an injury before the series even begins – Gogglebox star Stephen Lustig-Webb has already had to drop out after breaking his ankle in training.
A Dancing On Ice spokesperson said at the time: "Stephen Lustig-Webb has had to withdraw from the show due an injury he sustained to his ankle during training. He is still very much a part of the Dancing On Ice family, we will be helping to support Stephen and we wish him well with his recovery."
Stephen has been replaced by former Olympic ski jumper Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards, who was pictured this week wearing a helmet in training as he struggled to get to grips with skating.
Meanwhile, ex-S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt appeared to be taking to the ice well as she was pictured practising a number or moves on one leg.
Other famous faces signed up for the new series include Claire Sweeney, Adele Roberts, Ryan Thomas, Roxy Shahidi, Ricky Norwood, Ricky Hatton, Greg Rutherford, Miles Nazaire and Lou Sanders.
Amber won Love Island with her now ex Kem Cetinay in 2017, who has also taken part in Dancing On Ice – he came fourth in 2018 and went on to become a backstage reporter for the show.
