Emmerdale: Lydia threatens to go to the police
In upcoming scenes on Emmerdale, Sam Dingle (played by James Hooton) is left upset when Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) goes to her “mother’s” and he doesn’t understand why.
He opens up to Kim Tate (Claire King) who subtly tests the waters with him, as she’s trying to work out if he knows his wife Lydia’s been raped.
They’re both panicked when they try to call Lydia’s mum, only to find the Emmerdale character isn’t there.
Sam turns on Kim and demands her to tell him what she knows about his wife.
Meanwhile, a broken Lydia listens to Sam’s voice message and begins to question her decision to run away from home.

Back in the village, Sam’s worst fears are confirmed when Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) says she thinks Lydia’s having an affair.
Mandy tries to explain her suspicions to Sam as he is desperate to make sense of things.
However, the Dingles are thrown when a fragile Lydia arrives home, ready to open up about her horrific rape ordeal.
The family are rocked by her admission as an emotional Lydia tells them she was raped by Craig Reid (Ben Addis).

How will Sam react to the traumatic news? Will he encourage Lydia to report the crime to the police?
Could he end up tracking down the vile rapist and attacking him?
Perhaps the entire Dingle family will seek revenge on Craig in a bid to get justice for Lydia. Whatever, happens let’s hope an exit is on the cards for Craig.
Lydia actress Karen opened up to Express.co.uk earlier this year about the horrific storyline her character’s embroiled in.
The actress shared: “Knowing the Dingles like she does, what will happen?
“Will people hound Craig, will the Dingles seek revenge in some way if they can’t get traditional justice?”
Lydia set fire to the clothes she wore when she was attacked, so it will be her word against Craig’s when she reports the crime.
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7.30 pm on ITV. If you have been impacted by the content in this article, help is available via rapecrisis.org.uk.
