October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and EastEnders star Navin Chowdhry, known for his role of Nish Panesar, has celebrated his wife's very important milestone to mark the occasion.
The actor revealed that it's been two years since his wife Charlie has undergone chemo and posted a touching image on Instagram.
Sharing a post of a mug with the phrase ‘Straight Outta Chemo’ – a reference to 2015 film Straight Outta Compton – the 52-year-old said: "2 years ago. Mrs C lifted the cup! All my love to all the cancer warriors out there."
Navin also showed his support to those currently suffering from the disease and urged others to remember that "Cancer awareness does not end in October."
The post was soon flooded with support, with Navin’s co-star, Theo Hawthorne actor William Ellis, writing: "Love and light to you and the family."
Fans also shared their love, with one saying: "So happy for Mrs C and your gorgeous family."
Navin had been documenting Charlie's breast cancer fight after she was diagnosed in the summer of 2020.
In an Instagram video posted in February of this year, the doting husband showed support as his wife underwent surgery and said: "I just felt this sudden overwhelming urge absolutely compelled just to say, to breast cancer, go f**k yourself."
He continued: "My wife was diagnosed with triple-positive breast cancer back in the summer of 2020 and like so many of you out there it just opens a world that you hope you never see.
"It just hits home, the bravery courage and soul, and spirit of all you cancer warriors out there."
Celebrating one of their anniversaries in 2021, Navin wrote a sweet post, which said: "To my wife – the strongest, bravest, loudest woman I have ever met and the most positive light in my life – I love you."
While the EastEnders star has been at the forefront of dramatic storylines since he joined Albert Square as villainous Nish in September 2022, his life off-screen appears a lot calmer.
In fact, he and Charlie, who celebrated their twelfth wedding anniversary in July this year, have two sons together, aged ten and seven.
In a sweet post with photos of his two sons on Instagram on April 26 last year, the father wrote: "Happy Birthday Boys!! The eldest hits 10 today and the youngest was 7 last week. In the words of a friend – “It goes by heartbreakingly fast”."
