Brits are due to receive an extra one-off payment coming soon.
The Household Support Fund was first announced in September 2021 to give money to vulnerable households with essentials over the colder months.
As part of the most recent extension, £842million is being provided in England to push the help from April 2023 to March 31, 2024.

The funding then goes to local authorities who distribute the support to struggling households in the area. What you're entitled to depends on where you live.
Some councils also share the money through local charities and community groups. Different regions might choose different ways of using the fund to support people, with the City of York Council paying £185 in November.
If you live in this area, you might have already been sent an invitation at the end of April if the council thought you were eligible.
But you may not be eligible to apply without receiving the invitation link, although you "must require urgent financial assistance and not have enough income or savings to meet the eligible costs the scheme can help with".
Those who were verified are set to receive £186 by the end of June, then another £185 by late November. If you live under the City of York Council, they are taking applications until March 31 next year.

Meanwhile in Manchester, those who receive the Housing Benefit but don't get DWP welfare payments, could receive £300 through the scheme.
The council is also giving out £250 to households of five or more people who get Council Tax Support. Also Birmingham City Council is offering grants of up to £200 to households with financial struggles.
It's always worth checking what your local council is paying out through the Household Support Fund. You can do that by visiting the GOV.UK website.
