People have revealed their biggest workplace ‘icks’ including making TikToks in the office and bragging about your exercise to vaping at work.
More than 3,500 people were surveyed by Digital ID, who discovered very modern trends are more irritating than typical annoyances like cooking fish in the microwave.
Filming yourself and others for social media videos is the thing that irks workers the most.
‘These are the colleagues who, at any given opportunity, are filming their latest dance challenge or lip-sync battle right in the middle of the office,’ a spokesperson at Digital ID told FEMAIL.
‘While it adds a bit of fun and vibrancy to the work environment, it can also be a distraction for those trying to concentrate on their tasks.’

Next on the list of annoyances is vaping.
The smell of eCigarettes is something else what annoys workers, as people moan about the sickly smell of vapes.
Lastly, bragging about your exercise routine, is next on the list, particularly ‘cold water swimmers’.
This is a group who start their day with an icy dip in the local lake or sea and don’t shy away from sharing their experiences in great detail.
While it’s certainly an impressive and healthful habit, the constant talk about cold water swimming can become a bit too much for some.
It often leads to an unintended division between the health enthusiasts and those who prefer their morning routine to be a bit more temperate.
Finally, the ‘Always-On’ Generation Z causes an ick with older workers,
This group, aged under 25, is known for constant digital connectivity, juggling between work tasks, social media, and messaging.
While this means they are highly responsive, it also blurs the lines between work and personal life, sometimes appearing as a lack of focus to those who value uninterrupted work.
Vaping at work was also on the list of biggest workplace icks
Digital ID said: ‘While these new-age icks are relatively harmless and often add character to the workplace, they also highlight the diverse lifestyles and preferences that exist within an office.
‘Navigating these icks requires a balance between tolerance, understanding, and setting clear boundaries to ensure a harmonious and productive work environment.
It comes after workers shared their biggest ‘icks’ and pet peeves they experience at work.
UK workers biggest ‘icks’
1. Making TikToks at work
2. Vaping in the office
3. Bragging about exercise, and cold water swimming
4. Being ‘always on’
From pen thieves to team building activities and even coworkers who are overly cheery in the morning, employees across all industries are revealing what grinds their gears in the workplace.
There were many classic answers including meetings that could have been an email, colleagues who heat up fish in the microwave, and receiving work-related texts on days off.
Others said condescending coworkers, superiors who favour some team members over others and people who click their pens or tap their toes all day are also infuriating.
‘Tell us about what drives you absolutely MAD at work. We’ll go first.. When they set up a meeting after 4pm on a Friday,’ a post to Boost Juice’s Facebook page read.
The post drew in hundreds of responses starting off with people breaking office etiquette.
‘Pen thieves or not putting things back where they belong!’ one woman said and another added: ‘No one replaces the toilet paper’.
‘People not cleaning up after them self in the break room,’ a third wrote while a fourth said: ‘People eating tuna in the lunchroom’.
‘When someone repeatedly clicks their pen or taps on their desk really loud but they don’t realise how annoying it is because they have headphones on,’ a fifth explained.
‘Touching my sandwich when it’s in the sandwich press or opening the microwave to check if my food is done,’ someone grumbled.
Bragging about exercise, particularly cold water swimming, is another ick
One person said they hate when someone can’t ‘talk and work at the same time’ and someone else was angered by colleagues who refuse to ‘own up to their own mistakes’.
‘When they text in our group chats on weekends when I’m trying to enjoy my time away from work,’ one user commented.
‘When your suppose to work as a team but end up doing all the work yourself,’ a second answered.
‘When you have to follow up multiple times to get an answer,’ complained a third.
Many agreed meetings that could have been emails are infuriating as are meetings held over break times.
‘When the meeting organiser starts to wrap up the meeting right on the scheduled end time and then that ONE person has to ask a question that drags the meeting out for another 15 minutes,’ one man added.
Another worker said it enrages them ‘when someone messages me ‘hi’, then waits for me to say hi back before asking me their question.’
‘When a coworker treats me like I’m beneath them because I’m younger than them superiority complex,’ one woman said.
Someone wasn’t a fan of ‘corny’ team building activities, especially when they are made to be done outside work hours.
‘Asking staff to participate in ‘fun’ team building activities during their own time then when they don’t asking them to do it during the busiest work time,’ they commented.
One person said they are not a morning person and disliked coworkers who are.
‘When they’re all soooo cheery and happy at six in the morning and want to say ‘good morning’ to you,’ they moaned.
