Concealer is one of our make-up must-haves, and can transform tired eyes and an uneven complexion in seconds – and we’ve just found a high street product that looks like it can viral a high end one.
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, currently on sale for £5.59, has been going down a storm with shoppers recently. The creamy liquid cover-up comes in nine shades and claims to stay looking fresh and crease-free on the skin all day. It’s also oil-free and non-comedogenic so won’t block pores.
A concealer with this cream consistency is typically best for using under the eyes, over any areas of redness, or anywhere that needs brightening, whereas to camouflage blemishes, a thicker, more solid type of concealer is usually better.
And customers are clearly loving the results it gives, as it has collected hundreds of rave reviews online.
“Best concealer, always covers my dark circles and is a great price,” one happy LookFantastic customer wrote on its website.
“I really like this concealer. It doesn’t get stuck in lines and glides on beautifully,” another five-star review reads.
“Love this product. Such good value for the price. Does a job like all the expensive products out there. Very pleased and would recommend,” a third person wrote.
And if you know your concealers, it’s not hard to see what “expensive product” Maybelline Fit Me might be being compared to.
Eagle-eyed beauty fans have noticed that it not only looks a lot like NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, but also say it performs as well too – but for a fraction of the price, as NARS’s costs £26.
“I usually use NARS but…I decided to give the Maybelline Fit Me range a try and I'm so glad I did! It's so much cheaper and I can hardly tell the difference,” one person wrote on the Boots website.
Another was less subtle, stating: “This is a great dupe for the NARS concealer!”
A long-time favourite with celebrities and make-up artists, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer has a lightweight, buildable finish and is the best selling concealer in the US. It also comes in an impressive shades 30 compared to Maybelline’s nine.
We still think the Maybelline one is worth trying the next time we’re shopping for concealer.
