SHOPPERS are raving about a winter essential that could help to keep the heating bills down.
One woman recently invested in an Oodie and says she instantly felt "boiling hot" when she put it on.
The Oodie is a soft wearable blanket that has soared in popularity in recent years as people look for cheaper ways to stay warm at home.
The original Oodie can retail for up to £89 and wearing one is described as feeling like you are "hugging a sheep".
But there are also a lot of cheaper ones out there and many retailers have their own versions.
However, one savvy shopper who posted in the "Scrimping on a Budget" Facebook group said she thinks it's worth shelling out on the original.

She wrote: "I know it's not the cheapest thing to buy but I decided to treat myself to an Oodie whilst they have a sale on.
"I'm hoping to save a lot on heating bills by wearing it this winter."
She went on to say that she "researched cheaper copies" but that the branded ones are made of "better-insulating fabrics" and in her opinion, it is worth paying a little extra for.
She added: "It came this morning and I tried it on and instantly felt boiling hot and had to take it off! I'm all set for winter with the radiators turned down low."

Other shoppers rushed to the comments to share their opinions on the cozy winter accessory.
One person said: "I got a mid-quality one. Had it as a gift and it's really warm.
"Could be a bit longer perhaps, but I can wear it while doing chores."
Another added: "I have a cheaper version and survived the last two winters without heating, so cheap doesn't always mean rubbish."
While another said: "I bought my daughter a Primark one too, the difference in quality is massive.
"When I washed them both, the Primark one dried overnight and the real one took six days to dry, she loves it."
Another shopper was also pleased with her cheaper version that cost just £10, she said: "I bought a £10 one from online home store, its floor length and ridiculously hot."
As with everything it is always best to shop around to make sure you are getting the cheapest deal and the product that is right for you.
