Who will be paired with who on Strictly Come Dancing based on popular theory

Strictly Come Dancing won’t be cha cha chaing back onto our TV screens for a few more weeks, but we may already know who is dancing together.

The celebrity line-up has been put through their paces in the rehearsal room, and even celebrated birthdays together.

The next milestone on the Strictly journey is finding out who their professional partner is going to be.

This is the person they’ll spend every day with until they leave the competition, as they teach them how to master the art form. So yeah, it’s pretty major!

One aspect that is usually taken into consideration during the partnering process is height.

The celebrities and their professional partners are often of similar stature, and in a lot of cases the male is slightly taller than their female partner.

With that information in mind, we’ve done a deep dive into their heights to figure out who could be with who on Strictly 2023.

Bobby Brazier and Nadiya Bychkova

As the tallest male celebrity at 6’2 and the tallest professional female dancer at 5’8 it makes sense that these two may be put together.

Nadiya, 33, who joined the show in 2017, has previously been partnered with many tall men including 6′ Davood Ghadami and 6’6 Dan Walker.

Bobby, 20, has put his tallness to good use in his career as a model and has even walked for Dolce and Gabbana.

Zara McDermott and Giovanni Pernice or Graziana di Prima or Neil Jones

Now, 5’7 Zara could have a few potential matches – her eggs are in multiple baskets to use Love Island speak.

At 5’10 Giovanni, who previously won with Rose Ayling-Ellis could be a good choice. We could also see her with a 6′ Neil Jones.

Nikita Kanda’s height is a somewhat mystery with it being deemed as everything from 5’4 to 5’8, if she’s nearer the top end then she could also be a potential contender for the above dance suitors.

There’s also a chance Zara could be with Graziano di Prima, but we have him in mind for a few other people too!

He is one of a trio of dancers who are 5’11 alongside Vito Coppolo and Nikita Kuzmin.

There are also three 5’6 female celebrities – Angela Rippon, Annabel Croft and Angela Scanlon. Any combination of these six would surely be an excellent pairing. The Strictly team can’t go wrong really!

Amanda Abbington and Carlos Gu

Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington stands just below the 5’6 clan at 5’4 so could be tangoing with 5’8 Carlos Gu. It does take two after all.

The 51-year-old would be in safe hands with Carlos, 39, who took Molly Rainford all the way to the final in last year’s series.

Adam Thomas and Luba Mushtuk

As pretty tall people in the class – Adam, 34, who stands at 5’11 and 5’7 Luba, 33, could be a dancing match made in heaven.

Having previously been partnered with sportsmen – Olympic rowing champion James Cracknell OBE and American football player Jason Bell – could an actor from Waterloo Road be the one to finally get her the coveted Glitterball?

Nigel Harman or Krishnan Guru-Murthy with Katya Jones or Nancy Xu

Okay, now this is where things get a little complicated. Three of the male celebrities reportedly stand at 5’10 – Nigel, 50, Krishnan, 53, and Layton Williams, 28 (more on him soon).

Three of the female dancers are 5’6 – Lauren Oakley, 32, Nancy, 32, and Katya, 34, and so could be perfect for either Nigel or Krishnan.

Now as Strictly doesn’t do dance floor throuples this could mean one of them may not be partnered this year (or they could be with someone else on our list). Lauren is yet to have a celebrity partner on the show but impressed in the group dances last year.

Layton Williams and Kai Widdrington or Johannes Rabede

Layton allegedly asked bosses if he can become part of the fifth-same-sex coupling on the show.

A source said: ‘This year everyone is hoping for a same-sex couple who can go the distance.

‘Layton is a phenomenal performer and the pros will probably queue up to work with him,’ they added when speaking to The Mirror.

Layton is taller than all the female celebrities taking part, so could have the tallest male professional – 6’2 Kai, 27, as his partner.

The pair already looked like they were getting on very well at the recent Strictly rehearsals.

Johannes, 36 is our next tallest male professional dancer at an impressive 6′, and could also be a tremendous match.

Eddie Kadi and Karen Hauer

At 5’9 comedian Eddie, 40, could be leading 5’5 Karen, 41, around the ballroom.

He would be benefiting from many years of expertise as Karen has already had 11 celebrity partners.

One thing’s for sure – they’d definitely have a laugh in rehearsals.

Jody Cundy and Michelle Tsiakkas

Michelle, 27, is also 5’5 and so she could work well with Paralympian Jody Cundy, who is 5’8.

The partnership would be extra special for Michelle who has previously not had a celebrity partner. She could showcase her choreography and teaching skills with pupil Jody, 44.

Les Dennis and Dianne Buswell or Jowita Przystal

As the least tall male celebrity 5’7 Les is likely to be partnered with a smaller professional dancer.

Dianne Buswell, 34, who is 5’2, or reigning champion 5′ Jowita Przystal, 28, could have the honour of guiding Les, 69, through his Strictly experience.

Ellie Leach and Gorka Marquez

Coronation Street star Ellie is our smallest female celebrity at 5’1 and could be thrown around the dancefloor by 5’6.

Gorka was partnered with fellow soap actor Maisie Smith who is also 5’1 so this would make sense!
