Tyler, the Creator clarified that he will not be dropping a new project this year after a misunderstanding led fans to believe that new album is in the works.
Over the weekend, the artist took to Instagram Story to confirm that his deluxe album, CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST: The Estate Sale, is his release for 2023 and will not be followed up by anything else. The rumors of a new record stemmed from a GQ interview between Tyler and Pharrell that was published in late August, wherein Tyler shared that he has a “crazy one comin’ very soon.” Shortly after, the GOLF WANG founder went on X to explain that the interview was actually done earlier this February — a month before The Estate Sale was released.
Seeing as how Tyler has been consistent with dropping a new album every two years, it comes as no surprise that fans assumed a brand new record will come out this year to followup 2021’s CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST. There is now speculation that his new album won’t be releasing until 2025, however that remains to be seen.
Elsewhere in music, Drake delayed For All the Dogs to October.
