Playboi Carti burst onto the scene in 2017 with his self-titled debut mixtape, the project that contained his hit track “Magnolia,” along with “Wokeuplikethis” featuring Lil Uzi Vert. In 2018, he put out his first full-length LP, Die Lit.
In 2020, he returned with his critically acclaimed sophomore album, Whole Lotta Red. The following year, Carti teased another album on social media entitled Narcissist. Later that year, he revealed he had changed the title to Music.
Three years since then, and fans have been awaiting the next release from the rapper. In March, it was rumored that Music was nearly complete and Carti performed unreleased tracks at both Rolling Loud California and Wireless Festival.
Carti seems to have finally kicked off the official rollout for Music. Today, December 7, the rapper posted the words “I AM MUSIC” on his Instagram Story. He also changed his profile picture to the same words.
He hasn’t revealed an actual release date just yet, so fans will have to stay tuned for more details on the long-awaited Music LP.
