In the past year, Kate Middleton and Prince William have been through a lot. In addition to losing their monarch and grandmother/grandmother-in-law with the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the two weathered the storm of their feud with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, continued parenting their three kids (Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5) and, lastly, had to adjust to new roles as the new Prince and Princess of Wales. With all that, it’s safe to say the two have been through quite a whirlwind of a year.
According to new sources, however, it seems like Middleton and William have been each others partner in crime through it all. “William and Kate are more in sync than ever,” a palace insider recently told Us Weekly. “They cherish what they have with each other.”
“They’re in awe of each other,” the source added on the pair, who have been married since 2011. “William tells anyone who will listen that he couldn’t do it without Kate, and she echoes that right back.”
In fact, the parents of three are more connected specifically because of all the obstacles they’ve faced together recently. “[The Queen’s] death hit them extremely hard,” the source said. “In many ways, it’s only now really sinking in that she’s gone.”
“They’re the first to admit it’s been a tough year, but everyone agrees William and Kate have done a wonderful job staying strong in the face of such adversity,” the sources added, noting that, to them, “family comes first, and it always will.”
As for their new roles as the Prince and Princess of Wales, it seems like the two are relying on King Charles III to set the tone. “They want to keep working with Charles and Camilla and other members of The Firm to help lead the royal family into a more modern direction,” the sources said.

And, speaking of Middleton and William’s connection, the sources also dished on their recent uptake on PDA moments. “William used to be quite awkward about showing too much affection,” the source revealed, “but Kate’s helped him relax.”
Looks like Middleton and William are turning out to be the best kind of relationship, one where they rely on each other, share responsibilities, and help each other get through some tough times. We love to see it!
