Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have reached an agreement over the custody of their dogs.
The 41-year-old pop star and budding actor, 29, are divorcing after just 14 months of marriage and it’s been claimed that the Gimme More hitmaker was worried that Sam will try to take their dogs.
The exes share five hounds – a Doberman named Porsha that Sam bought for Britney in October 2021 as a protection dog, an Australian Shepherd called Sawyer, Hannah the Yorkie and two other small dogs.
Sam – who cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the estranged couple’s separation – will retain custody of Porsha.
According to TMZ, Britney will keep the other four dogs.
Earlier this month, an insider claimed Britney’s biggest divorce concern isn’t her reported $60,000,000 (£47mill) wealth, but her dogs.
‘Regarding [Britney and Sam’s shared] property, the most difficult part of dividing any assets will be their dogs,’ the source told DailyMail.com at the time.
News of the divorce broke last week before Sam confirmed that the pair had ‘decided to end [their] journey together’.
Speaking for the first time about the split last week, the Princess of Pop confirmed she and Sam were no longer together and described feeling ‘a little shocked’.

She wrote on Instagram at the weekend: ‘As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because its honestly nobody’s business !!!
‘But, I couldn’t take the pain anymore honestly !!! In some sort of telepathic way I have been receiving so many messages that melt my heart from friends and I thank you !!!
‘I’ve been playing it strong for way too long and my Instagram may seem perfect but it’s far from reality and I think we all know that !!! I would love to show my emotions and tears on how I really feel but some reason I’ve always had to hide my weaknesses !!!
‘If I wasn’t my dad’s strong soldier, I would be sent away to places to get fixed by doctors !!! But that’s when I needed family the most !!! You’re supposed to be loved unconditionally … not under conditions !!!!
