Just last month, Analogue released a glow-in-the-dark version of its handheld console, the Pocket Glow. The Game Boy-inspired Analogue Pocket was first launched in 2020 and has become a coveted piece of hardware among gamers over the past few years due to its limited drops.
The company is gearing up for its next launch, a transparent Analogue Pocket, harking back to the clear Game Boy models Nintendo rolled out in the late 1980s. The handheld will come in a clear iteration, along with tinted color versions in grey, red, blue, orange, green and purple.
Like the preceding Analogue Pockets, the device is capable of running Game Boy and Game Boy Advance cartridges, along with any accessories designed for the original Game Boy. The Pocket’s battery packs 10 hours of gameplay on a single charge and features its own speaker system, as well as a USB-C charging port and a 3.5mm audio port.
At $250 USD, the Pocket Transparent Edition is priced at $30 USD more than the original, though that run is long sold out. Analogue will be releasing the clear devices on its website this Friday, September 29 at 8 a.m. PDT/11 a.m. EDT.
