Russell Brand denies ‘serious allegations’ of Dispatches investigation
Broadcaster Kirsty Gallacher has shown her support for brother-in-law Russell Brand after he posted a video denying “serious allegations” he claims are being made against him.
The 47-year-old Smooth Radio host shared the comedian’s video to her Instagram stories for her 402,000 followers with a large red love heart embedded on it.
Kirsty is the older sister of Russell’s wife Laura, whose Instagram page disappeared after he uploaded his clip to social media.
Russell shared the unexpected clip with his 6.5 million YouTube followers as well as his 11.1 million followers on X (formerly Twitter) and his 3.8 million Instagram followers.
The video, which was posted late on Friday night, was titled So, This Is Happening and saw the comedian, actor and TV personality talk about “aggressive attacks” being made against him.

“This is not the usual type of video where we critique attack and undermine the news in all its corruption, because in this story, I am the news,” he began.
The 48-year-old claimed he had received an “extremely disturbing” letter and email from a mainstream media TV company and a newspaper listing “a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks”.
He says: “Amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque, attacks are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute.”
Russell also slammed the mainstream media and alleged there was a “coordinated media attack”, “like with Joe Rogan, when he dared to take a medicine that the mainstream media didn’t approve of”.
This led to support from Elon Musk who commented on the video on X: “Of course. They don’t like competition.”

In the clip, Russell explains the allegations concern a time years ago when he was working in movies and the mainstream media.
“These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies. And as I’ve written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous,” he says.
“During that time of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely always consensual. I was always transparent about that then, almost too transparent. And I’m being transparent about it now as well.
“And to see that transparency metastasise into something criminal that I absolutely deny makes me question if there is another agenda at play.”
