EastEnders star Danielle Harold in talks to appear on Im A Celeb

It's officially Autumn which means I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! is just around the corner, with the Australian jungle ready to host a new batch of celebrities.

It's been reported that one of those celebs is former EastEnders star Danielle Harold, who played Lola Pearce in the soap.

Danielle, 31, has been lauded for her performance as hairdresser Lola, who recently passed away after battling cancer.

And since leaving the soap, her star only seems to be rising – and an appearance on I'm A Celeb could propel her even further into stardom, having helped the likes of Stacey Solomon and Peter Andre.

A source told The Sun: "Danielle is at the height of her career and in demand after her moving storyline on EastEnders, but she’s really caught the eye of ITV bosses to appear in the upcoming series of the jungle.

"As well as being a talented actress with a huge fanbase, Danielle has a fun personality with a wicked sense of humour, which makes her the ideal campmate for the show.

"It could propel her into superstardom at an exciting time in her acting journey. Conversations are under way and producers are trying to lure her with a lucrative deal."

OK! has contacted ITV and Danielle's reps for comment.

Danielle recently won big at the National Television Awards (NTAs) where she was recognised for her incredible performance as Lola on EastEnders.

She was overcome with emotion as she accepted the Serial Drama Performance.

The actress, who first appeared in EastEnders in 2011, beat a number of talented soap stars at the NTAs, with her fellow nominees including Coronation Street's Charlotte Jordan and Maureen Lipman as well as Emmerdale's Dominic Brunt.

The star couldn't hide her excitement as she heard her name read out at the awards bash and she quickly became emotional.

Jamie Borthwick, who plays Danielle's on-screen husband Jay Brown in EastEnders, was by her side throughout the evening and embraced her as she won the award.

Speaking prior to her NTAs win, Danielle opened up about portraying Lola's heartbreaking brain tumour storyline, telling OK! it has made her want to "live every moment".

“I was over the moon when I heard I’d been nominated for an NTA,” she said.

“Some incredible people have won this award, so to think I could be joining them is an absolute dream come true. I’m so excited to see what happens on the night. I’ll be super emotional if I win – I’m very connected to the storyline and have met so many people on the journey who are affected. It’ll be amazing to think I’m doing them proud.”
