Autumn may not have hit our weather just yet (27 degrees this weekend!?) but it definitely has hit Helen George's hair. The Call the Midwife star has transformed her look with the help of black hair dye, and it's prompting fans to liken her to Wednesday Addams.
Helen's new hue can be seen in newly posted snaps on her Instagram grid, which she captions: "A summer of love".
The second snap in the carousel shows the star posing for a selfie in a multi-coloured gingham top, and though doesn't mention anything about a colour change, it's clear her previously auburn has been made even darker to now a nearly black shade.
Love the dark hair!! SO different," says one follower, while a second pens: "You do look like Wednesday with the black hair!"
A third adds: "Be fun to see Trixie with dark hair next season," referencing Helen's character on Call the Midwife.
It's true, Helen's dark hair does resemble the black and straight locks of Wednesday Addams in the Wednesday Netflix series. It's also true that the dark colour does indeed give the actress a very different appearance to the blonde coiffed one we're used to seeing her wear on Call the Midwife.
If you haven't been keeping up with Helen on Instagram, you may not have even been aware that she transformed her look from blonde to auburn back in February of this year. For years, the actress had been synonymous with bright blonde hair as Trixie, the bombshell 60s midwife at Nonnatus House on the hit BBC1 show. In February though Helen switched over to the dark side, with a stunning chestnut hair transformation that made her look remarkably different.
While the shade in her initial photo looked to be a light cinnamon-brown, a follow-up video from an appearance on This Morning revealed that Helen has actually gone for a slightly darker, more chestnut-toned brunette. Now, it seems she's gone one step further into a more raven tone.
Well, we know one thing for sure: Helen suits every hair colour she tries!
