Jon Bon Jovi attends Bruce Springsteen gig watching from the sidelines

Bruce Springsteen fans have sent their well wishes to the 73-year-old singer after it was announced he had postponed two of his gigs.

The musician’s team announced on Twitter that he had been “taken ill” just hours before he was due to take to the stage on Wednesday night and also revealed he won’t be performing on August 18.

Bruce was due to play two gigs with The E Street Band at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

His team added that dates will be rescheduled and they urged fans to “hold on to your tickets”.

Many of the singer’s 1.3 million followers sent their well wishes and expressed their concerns in the comments section.

Cheryl Coyle typed: “So sad… flew in from NC to see this concert. Love Bruce. Hope he’s okay.”

Tammy Kelley added: [Prayers] to Bruce. Taking care of yourself is the most important. Wishing you a speedy and complete recovery.”

A fan named Bryan Drey also questioned if anything happened during soundcheck, as he called the last minute announcement “scary”.

Kimba Wiggins wrote: “I hope you feel better soon, Bruce. We need you at your very best!”

Gulu Ezekiel commented: “Get well soon!”

Karl McNamara added: “Best wishes for a full recovery.”

Express.co.uk has contacted Bruce’s representatives for comment.

The gigs were part of 22 new stops on his 2023 concert tour, which kicked off in February.

It’s not the first time Bruce has had to postpone this year due to health concerns.

On March 9, the Nationwide Arena in Ohio announced that his show that night would not be going ahead.

Much like the latest statement, they attributed the issue to an “illness”.

Following this, two more cancellations were made at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut and at the MVP Arena in Upstate New York.

At the time, Steven Van Zandt, member of E Street Band, reassured fans that all was going to be OK.

He wrote: “No need to be anxious or afraid. Nothing serious. Just a temporary situation. We will all be back in full force very soon.”
