NAAY, 27

Single, no children.

Dating Past

I was in a three-year relationship until about a year ago and since then have only dated, but nothing serious.

Pre-Date Nerves?

I’ve never been on a blind date before so, yes, I was a little nervous. But I went into it thinking: ‘I’m just going to enjoy myself and see what happens.’

Naay, 27, is single with no children. She is a model and also runs her own takeaway business

First Impressions?

When I walked over to Brad’s table, I thought: ‘Oh, he’s a good-looking guy,’ which is always nice. He had a lovely smile and stood up to say a warm hello, which put me at my ease from the start.

Easy To Talk To?

We had a really lively conversation. We spoke about football because we are both huge fans and we talked about our families. We also discovered we like the same TV shows, such as Big Brother and Squid Game.

We talked a little about Brad’s children, but not much. The fact he’s a father doesn’t put me off dating him. Many men in their early 30s have had children, so you just have to accept it as part of the package.

I’d definitely like my own children one day and I wouldn’t mind being a stepmum.

Embarrassing Moments?

No, it all went smoothly with no awkward silences.

Did sparks fly?

Not really. The conversation was more like two friends having a laugh than anything flirty. Somehow, even though he’s attractive, I just didn’t fancy him. I think he felt the same about me, as I didn’t get any flirty vibes back either.

She’s looking for someone with a great personality who she clicks with. She’d prefer them to be taller than her and be fairly fit and healthy

See him again?

Probably not, if I’m honest. We had a nice time and he’s a lovely guy but the distance is too much and I don’t think either of us would make the effort to travel.

What do you think he thought of you?

I’m not really sure. It felt like we were both on the same wavelength, laughing at the same things and really getting on well, but there was no real spark of attraction.

Would your family like him?

My family are Muslim and usually quite picky about the kind of men they want me to date. I tend to ignore everything they say and go for the complete opposite. So I’m not sure what they’d say about Brad — he’s lovely but doesn’t share our faith

NAAY

Single, no children.

CURRENT ROLE

Model, and I run my own takeaway business.

WOULD LIKE TO MEET

Someone with a great personality I click with. I’d prefer them to be taller than me — I’m 5ft 5in — and be fairly fit and healthy.

BRAD

Single with two children, a six-year-old girl and a six-month-old son.

CURRENT ROLE

Conveyor belt engineer.

WOULD LIKE TO MEET

Someone into football, walking and going to the gym. I work odd hours and like to see my children at weekends, so they’d have to be understanding about that.

BRAD, 31

Single with two children, a six-year-old girl and a six-month-old son.

Dating Past

I’ve had one long-term relationship — with the mother of my daughter — but we split up three years ago. I’ve been largely single since then. My baby son was the result of a very brief fling.

Pre-Date Nerves?

I went into it thinking: ‘Whatever happens, I’m going to enjoy the experience.’

Brad, 31, is single with two children, a six-year-old girl and a six-month-old son. He works as a conveyor belt engineer

First Impressions?

When Naay joined me at our table, I was immediately struck by how attractive she was in her jumpsuit. She had a great smile and seemed really friendly.

Easy To Talk To?

Yes, there were no awkward silences. We had a lot in common, the first thing being our love of football. She’s a Chelsea fan and I support Manchester United, but you can’t have everything!

We chatted about Naay’s modelling career and I was impressed she could mix it up with her work as a chef, too. She seemed to have a lot of confidence, which I liked.

Like me, she has little spare time and was interested to hear about my family and my children. I’m not sure if she wants kids: I got the impression she didn’t, so that would make things a little awkward if we did get together.

Embarrassing Moments?

None at all.

Did sparks fly?

Yes and no — she’s very good-looking, so of course I found her attractive. But I need to get to know a woman a bit more to say if there are sparks.

She said over dinner that she’d have preferred an ‘activity’ date, such as bowling, and I feel the same. Still, I thought we got along well.

He’s looking for someone who is into football, walking and going to the gym. She will have to understand that he likes to see his children at the weekend

See her again?

I would if she wanted to, but I think the distance between our homes — I’m in the Midlands and she’s down South — would limit us. We shared Instagram handles so we can follow each other on social media, but that’s about it.

What do you think she thought of you?

I really don’t know. I don’t think I’m her type because I didn’t get any sense she was flirting with me. But then, she didn’t give much away about how she felt.

Would your family like her?

Yes, definitely — although they’re always happy for me if I’m happy with someone.

NAAY’S VERDICT: 7.5/10

LIKED? He’s as fussy about food as I am!

REGRETS? No — it was great.

COFFEE OR CAB? Cab

BRAD’S VERDICT: 9/10

LIKED? The whole experience. The time flew by.

REGRETS? None at all.

BLIND DATE VITAL STATISTICS
