The four most senior family members posed together for a photographer before\u00a0The Diplomatic Reception<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/07\/12\/78593449-12832309-Omid_pictured_has_doubled_down_to_defend_Endgame_and_refused_to_-a-49_1701951439577.jpg\" height=\"598\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Omid (pictured) has doubled down to defend Endgame and refused to take the blame for the racism scandal<\/p>\n<p>Although he recalls Meghan&#8217;s first meetings with the Queen, Charles, Camilla and William in the book, he never actually mentions what happened when she was first introduced to Kate.<\/p>\n<p>But later in Harry\u2019s memoir, he describes an evening between the four where Meghan cooked dinner and everyone appeared to get along.<\/p>\n<p>The conversation was jovial with topics jumping from Wimbledon &#8211; both women shared a passion for tennis &#8211; to the popular US legal drama Suits, which Meghan starred in for seven seasons.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/07\/12\/78284629-12832309-Pictured_the_cover_art_for_Prince_Harry_s_memoir_Spare_which_hit-a-51_1701952061999.jpg\" height=\"466\" width=\"306\"><\/p>\n<p>Prince Harry spoke about the early days of Meghan&#8217;s relationship with Kate and William in his memoir, and said that everyone got on well\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018[Prince William] seemed to like Meg, despite his oft-cited concerns. Kate seemed to like her too,\u2019 the book said.<\/p>\n<p>The only quibble, Harry mused, was how differently the two women were dressed with Meghan in \u2018ripped jeans, barefoot\u2019 while Kate was \u2018done up to the nines\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>But again, the book didn\u2019t paint the contrasting attire as a sticking point with Harry recalling that it was \u2018no big deal, I thought.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>While both Meghan and Kate have said little on the record about the early days of their relationship, Meghan did openly gush about her relationship with Kate in a 2017 BBC interview.<\/p>\n<p>The interview, filmed shortly after Meghan and Harry\u2019s engagement, showed Meghan actively praising her future sister-in-law as being \u2018wonderful\u2019 during her early days in the royal family.<\/p>\n<p>In the interview, Harry said that both William and his wife had been eager to meet Meghan once they discovered the pair were dating.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018William was longing to meet [Meghan] and so was Catherine, so you know, being our neighbours, we managed to get that in quite a few times now and Catherine has been absolutely\u2026\u2019 he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meghan quickly jumped in to say that Kate had been \u2018wonderful\u2019. Harry later added that both William and Charles had been \u2018amazing\u2019 and that the couples had enjoyed \u2018a handful of teas and meetings and all sorts of gatherings\u2019 as part of Meghan&#8217;s induction into the royal family.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the fallout from the publication of Endgame, it&#8217;s been business as usual this week for the royals, with the King putting on a united front with Queen Camilla, Kate and William at the annual pre-Christmas diplomatic reception at Buckingham Palace.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The four most senior British Royal Family members posed together for a photograph before the \u2018white tie and tiaras\u2019 event.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Buckingham Palace has not commented publicly, but aides have made clear that the King and his senior advisors are \u2018considering all options\u2019 open to them over the unsubstantiated claims, including the possibility of legal action.<\/p>\n<p>They have, however, been comforted by the sympathetic public reaction they have received to \u2018revelations\u2019 in the poorly-reviewed book and may decide to let that speak for itself.<\/p>\n<p>The hatchet-job against the Royal Family has been widely pilloried even by normally sympathetic media outlets like the New York Times, which described one chapter as &#8216;like a press release cooked up by ChatGPT&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Endgame sold just under 6,500 copies in Britain during its first five days on scale despite a blizzard of publicity &#8211;
