A lad who left school at 16 with no GCSEs claimed he's earning £10,000 a month and drives a £30,000 sports car with a not so 'glamourous' job.

Kurt Malpass, 26, from Staffordshire, was placed on a course "for kids who don't listen" and even excluded while in secondary school for his behaviour. He admitted that he's "quite clever" but the likes of French, Spanish and geography never interested him subject wise.

After he was put on the course at age 16, Kurt's interest piqued when he discovered bricklaying. And he quickly fell in 'love' with the manual labour job.

After achieving his level one qualification on the vocational pathway when he was a teen, the skilful bricklayer bypassed the rest of the qualifications and started to work on site.

The lad wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty and got stuck straight into the trade where he spent three years perfecting his craft before he became self-employed at 19. He was even able to purchase his first home – a £110,000 three bed home – in the same year thanks to his bricklaying work.

Kurt recently went viral on TikTok when he alleged that he makes '£1 a brick', although he actually earns 62p. But, that's still enabled him to live a luxurious lifestyle – and all without his school qualifications.

"I'm quite clever but subjects like French, Spanish and geography never interested me," Kurt explained. "When I went to do bricklaying, I fell in love with it and I was naturally good at it too.

"I bought my first house at 19 – if you're willing to work hard and put in the hours you can earn ridiculous money. Being a bricklayer, people don't look at you like you're a clever person.

"People think it's easy and we're overpaid for what we do – but it's a skill and not everyone can do it."

As he charges 62p per brick, Kurt can make anything from £500 to £800 a day and builds anything from new builds to million-pound mansions. Despite his rocky time at school, Kurt now drives a £30,000 Audi S8 – which he bought outright – and earns between £8,000-£10,000 a month.

He's working his way towards owning a Lamborghini and hopes to start investing in property in the future.

Kurt says he earns "ridiculous" money. Although, he urged that bricklaying is no easy task. He said: "When people see me doing it on TikTok they think it's easy, and that they could do it, but its not.

"I also get a lot of comments saying 'my family member is a bricklayer, they don’t earn this money'. But if you're willing to work hard and put the hours in, you can earn ridiculous money."

"I love it, I find it therapeutic.

"I couldn’t imagine where I'd be without bricklaying."
