A woman's voice notes have gone viral after she cried to her manager to get her shift covered because she thought her 'car had been stolen' — only to realise she'd made a hilarious error.

Sarah Ashleigh, who posts online as @sarahashleigh60, was returning to her vehicle in Watford when she realised it wasn't there. Immediately, she started panicking as she believed her car had been stolen.

But rather than call the police, her first priority was to leave her manager a voice message explaining what happened so she could get her shift covered. In the clip, which has gained more than 124,000 likes, the sobbing woman said: "Is there any chance you can try and find cover for my morning shift?

"I've literally come to Watford with my friend and I parked my car in the car park and it's literally been stolen. I can't find it anywhere. It's going to take me ages to get home. I just feel absolutely f***ing s**t. I need to phone the police and everything as well."

However, just five minutes later she realised her mistake and sent another message, in a much calmer voice, saying: "It's okay, I found it. I'll see you tomorrow." It turns out she had simply forgotten where she had parked.

However, her manager hadn't seen her messages yet, so she listened to both voice notes together. "OMG! I'M DYINGGG! Playing those two voice notes in a row is jokes."

In the caption, she wrote: "When you text your manager that your car's been stolen to find it 5 seconds NEVER park in Watford guys," before adding in the comments: "Guys this was a traumatic experience."

To stay up to date with all the latest news, make sure you sign up to one of our newsletters here.

TikTok users were left howling with laughter over the clip as they took to the comments amazed that her first priority was to tell work.
