THREE of the most memorable music legends of the 90's are coming back to perform on stage. <\/p>\n
The collection of artists will be reuniting for some special Halloween gigs in Birmingham and Manchester. <\/p>\n
\n<\/p>\n
Dru Hill, Blackstreet and Tweet will perform in the UK cities over three R&B Halloween Block Party gigs. <\/p>\n
Mark "Sisq\u00f3" Andrews, Tamir "Nokio" Ruffin, Larry "Jazz" Anthony and James "Woody" Green were the founding members of Dru Hill. <\/p>\n
Scola, Tao, Smoke and Black were the other members that made up the bands line-up over the years. <\/p>\n
The American R&B group were famous for their seven top 40 hits, which included the R&B number ones In My Bed, Never Make a Promise and How Deep Is Your Love.<\/p>\n
Their second album in 1998, Enter the Dru, peaked at number two on both the\u00a0Billboard\u00a0200\u00a0and\u00a0Top R&B\/Hip-Hop Albums\u00a0charts in the US.<\/p>\n Whilst Sisq\u00f3 has remained with the band since it's founding since 1992, they have had a number of personnel changes over the years. <\/p>\n Nokio stayed with the band from its founding all the way until 2020, but he rejoined in 2021. <\/p>\n Meanwhile, Jazz joined the band one year after its founding and departed the group until 2018, before opting to rejoin in 2021. <\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Scola and Tao both joined the group in the noughties in 2001 and 2008 respectively.<\/p>\n Both members had tenures of various lengths before they both officially joined in 2021. <\/p>\n Smoke and Black both joined in 2018 and have remained with the band ever since as the group is now a 7 piece. <\/p>\n Blacksteet who are also part of the gigs are best known for the hit single No Diggity which featured Dr. Dre\u00a0and\u00a0Queen Pen. <\/p>\n In 1998 they won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, beating out the likes of Boyz II Men.<\/p>\n They also won the MTV Europe Music Award (MTV EMA's) for Best R&B act in 1997 and a MOBO for Best International Act that same year.<\/p>\n The group was founded in 1991 by by\u00a0producers\u00a0Chauncey "Black" Hannibal, and\u00a0Teddy "Street" Riley and also featured a number of lineup changes over the years. <\/p>\n Leading up to this, they achieved relative success before the breakout track which peaked at number one in 1996 for four weeks. <\/p>\n Over the years they recorded four albums with their sophomore album, Another Level as their biggest success. <\/p>\n The record achieved a peak chart position at number three on the Billboard 200 and it sold more than four million copies.<\/p>\n Their third album Finally was a commercial failure, however they collaborated with worldwide names such as Janet Jackson and Stevie Wonder on the record. <\/p>\n Completing the lineup of groups at the special UK gig is Charlene Keys<\/strong>, better known as Tweet. <\/p>\n In the early 90's she joined the female trio Sugah, which was part of Devante Swing's Swing Mob collective. <\/p>\n Whilst there, she formed a close bond with Missy Elliott and was featured on her 2002 best selling album Miss E… So Addictive. <\/p>\n She was also nominated for the award of best new artist at the Soul Train Music Awards in 2003. <\/p>\n<\/picture>EMERGENCY DASH <\/span><\/p>\n
