    Britain's best fish and chip shops have been named.<\/p>\n

    The Fish and Chip Takeaway of the Year competition, which is in its 36th year, required chippies to put themselves forward to be judged. They were then assessed based on various factors including product knowledge, best practice and employer responsibilities.<\/p>\n

    They then whittled entrants down to the top 40 \u2013 with spots in England, Wales and Scotland all getting mentions.<\/p>\n

    Andrew Crook, president of competition organisers \u2013 National Federation of Fish Friers, said: \u201cThe calibre of entries for the National Fish and Chip Awards 2024 have been nothing short of fantastic and we are proud of all the eateries that clearly put in huge amounts of effort to be considered for the accolade.<\/p>\n

    \u201cFish and Chip Takeaway of the Year is a notoriously difficult category to stand out in, but the panel of experts had many tough decisions to make.
