With all eyes on the Switch (and its soon-to-be-announced successor), the company&#8217;s latest step away from the past is the announcement of both the 3DS and Wii U having their online services shut down.<\/p>\n<p>In a brief article about the move, Nintendo shared that &#8220;In early April 2024, online play and other functionality that uses online communication will end for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U software.
