Former Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman\u2019s cause of death was revealed five months after the professional dancer\u2019s death, aged 78. <\/p>\n
The\u00a0TV star died unexpectedly\u00a0a number of days before his 79th birthday after he was first diagnosed with cancer in 2009. <\/p>\n
Since the shocking news of his death was announced, it has been revealed that he died following the spread prostate cancer to his bones \u2013 according to his death certificate, as reported by the Daily Express.<\/p>\n
The dancer and choreographer, originally from London, had been diagnosed with bone cancer and died earlier this year in April. <\/p>\n
Goodman\u00a0became a judge on the BBC show in 2004 and his final appearance was on the 2016 Christmas Day special.<\/p>\n
He announced his retirement from TV last year and would have celebrated his 79th birthday on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

A statement from his agent said at the time: \u2018It is with great sadness to announce that\u00a0Len\u00a0Goodman\u00a0has passed away peacefully, aged 78.<\/p>\n
\u2018A much-loved husband, father and grandfather who will be sorely missed by family, friends and all who knew him.\u2019<\/p>\n
Goodman\u00a0began dancing at 19, winning various competitions including the British Championships in Blackpool in his late 20s, after which he retired.<\/p>\n
He was replaced as head judge on the BBC show by Shirley Ballas.<\/p>\n
Goodman\u00a0also served as head judge on Dancing With The Stars, the US version of the show, for more than 15 years until announcing his retirement in November last year.<\/p>\n
He said at the time that he wanted to \u2018spend more time with my grandchildren and family\u2019 back in the UK.<\/p>\n
Goodman\u00a0was also a recipient of the Carl Alan Award in recognition of outstanding contributions to dance.<\/p>\n

As well as his successful dancing and television career, he was also the owner of the\u00a0Goodman\u00a0Academy, a dance school in Dartford, Kent.<\/p>\n
BBC director-general Tim Davie was among those paying tribute after hearing the heartbreaking news of his death.<\/p>\n
He said: \u2018Len\u00a0Goodman\u00a0was a wonderful, warm entertainer who was adored by millions. He appealed to all ages and felt like a member of everyone\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
\u2018Len\u00a0was at the very heart of Strictly\u2019s success. He will be hugely missed by the public and his many friends and family.\u2019 <\/p>\n
