To put an end to them, Erica Taylor took to TikTok to share what two of them are and debunk them.<\/p>\n
Once the skin shows signs of ageing, it is important to be strategic with the application techniques and the amount of product being used – especially when it comes to powder.<\/p>\n

A common misconception is that power shouldn\u2019t be used on mature skin as it can settle into fine lines and wrinkles, however, Erica noted that this is not the case if applied correctly.<\/p>\n The makeup article claimed that the trick is not to add too much powder. We need more strategically placed powder, but don\u2019t go powder crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n There is a huge misconception that women over 40 cannot wear shimmer eyeshadows.<\/p>\n Erica claimed that this is \u201cuntrue\u201d as shimmer actually \u201cgives light and reflection\u201d to areas you want it to.<\/p>\n There are many different options when it comes to adding a shimmer to eyelids.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Any age eye benefits from adding a pop of shimmer on the middle, inner eye, or along the lash line for those with a more hooded eye.<\/p>\n The makeup artist proceeded to apply a rose gold shimmery eyeshadow to her left eyelid and explained that it \u201copens the eye with a little illumination\u201d versus \u201cclosing it in with something that\u2019s too matte\u201d.<\/p>\n Erica claimed that using a matte eye shadow will make mature skin look \u201cmore dry\u201d.<\/p>\n
