A MAJOR coffee chain with more than 2,000 UK locations will be pulling the plug on one of its branches within just hours. <\/p>\n
Costa Coffee is closing its cafe in West Bridgford near Nottingham tomorrow (September 22).<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The store has been operating as normal up until now but will officially shut later on Friday.<\/p>\n
The closure was confirmed to The Sun last month and at the time a Costa Coffee spokesperson said:\u00a0\u201cWe can confirm that the Costa Coffee store on 48-50 Bridgford Road in West Bridgford will close for trade on September 22, 2023.<\/p>\n
"We are working with our team members to redeploy them to other stores in the local area.<\/p>\n
"We would like to apologise for the inconvenience the closure may cause and advise customers to visit our nearby store on\u00a0Daleside Road, Nottingham, NG2 3GG, or visit\u00a0www.costa.co.uk\/locations\/store-locator\/map\u00a0to find their nearest store."<\/p>\n

If this is your local Costa then don't worry, there are places nearby where you can get your daily dose of coffee. <\/p>\n
Tesco and Co-op both have a store nearby. <\/p>\n
The West Bridgford branch isn't the only Costa shutting for good. <\/p>\n
Its shop in the Coliseum\u00a0retail\u00a0park in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, closed on June 3.<\/p>\n
<\/picture>CHOCO BLOW <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/picture>SKY IS FALLING <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/picture>CASHING IN <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/picture>FREE CASH <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Back on June 5 its site in Welch Way, Witney, pulled the shutters down, with customers being directed to other nearby stores.<\/p>\n The chain also shut up shop at its Wigan town centre branch on June 25 this year.<\/p>\n Last Friday (September 15) its store in Oakham in the East Midlands closed down. <\/p>\n It'll also pull the plug on its shop on Church Street, in Malvern on November 17. <\/p>\n Costa says it regularly reviews its store estate across the UK to ensure it's right for its communities and teams.<\/p>\n This can include the closing or renovation of existing stores, or the opening of new stores.<\/p>\n Costa Coffee joins a long list of\u00a0shops and businesses\u00a0in the area that have been forced to close over the last year.<\/p>\n All 400 Wilko stores will disappear from the high street forever after it collapsed on August 10. <\/p>\n Just this week, 86 stores will be closing before all shops shut in October.<\/p>\n Within the past two weeks\u00a0the chain has shut 90 locations\u00a0across the country. <\/p>\n B&M launched a massive closing down sale before pulling down the shutters on its store in English Street, Cumbria.<\/p>\n This branch will close on Sunday, September 24, according to reports on social media. <\/p>\n Meanwhile, House of Fraser is closing its store at The Oracle shopping centre in Reading town centre on October 29. <\/p>\n Retailers\u00a0have been feeling the pinch since the\u00a0pandemic\u00a0while shoppers are cutting back on spending due to soaring\u00a0inflation.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n High\u00a0energy\u00a0costs and a shift to shopping online after the\u00a0pandemic\u00a0are also taking a toll and many high street shops have struggled to keep going.<\/p>\n Brick and mortar stores have also seen a lack of footfall due to consumer habits switching to online shopping.<\/p>\n Do you have a money problem that needs sorting?
