Katy Perry once seemingly hinted at knowing \u2018the real truth\u2019 about her ex-husband Russell Brand in a resurfaced interview.<\/p>\n
The comedian, 48, featured in Channel 4 and The Times\u2019 collaborative Dispatches episode on Saturday night in which he faced allegations of rape, sexual assault, and controlling and emotionally abusive behaviour.<\/p>\n
He denied the \u2018very very serious allegations\u2019 in a video posted across his social media platforms on Friday night ahead of the episode, as well as an expose from the newspaper.<\/p>\n
Fireworks hitmaker Perry, 38, made remarks about Brand in an interview following their breakup.<\/p>\n
The pair\u2019s whirlwind romance began in 2009, before they married on October 23, 2010, in a lavish ceremony at a tiger sanctuary in India.<\/p>\n
However, the pair split just 14 months later when Brand told Perry he wanted a divorce via text message before she was set to hit the stage.<\/p>\n

\u2018At first, when I met him, he wanted an equal, and I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal, but then they get that equal and they\u2019re like, \u201cI can\u2019t handle the equalness,\u201d\u2018 she told Vogue in 2013.<\/p>\n
She described his attitude towards her as \u2018very controlling,\u2019 especially when it came to her touring lifestyle before hinting at deeper issues with Brand and his behaviour.<\/p>\n
\u2018I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth,\u2019 she said. \u2018I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day.\u2019<\/p>\n
Similarly, Dannii Minogue labelled Brand a \u2018vile predator\u2019 in an interview from 17 years ago.<\/p>\n
Speaking to\u00a0The Mirror\u00a0at the Michele Watches Summer Party, she said of Brand: \u2018He is completely crazy and a bit of a vile predator.<\/p>\n

\u2018I certainly don\u2019t think he has cured his sex addiction, that\u2019s for sure.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018He wouldn\u2019t take no for an answer,\u2019 she added. \u2018He always goes that step too far.<\/p>\n
\u2018Never quite far enough to slap his face, but usually too far.\u2019<\/p>\n
Minogue continued: \u2018He\u2019s obviously very intelligent \u2013 but he wears more make-up than I do.<\/p>\n
\u2018Normally I love guys with eyeliner on. It can be very sexy, but not on Russell. Absolutely no way, never, he\u2019s just not my type.\u2019<\/p>\n
Minogue later said Brand had leched over her \u2018fabulous breasts\u2019 and claimed he followed her down a corridor and offered his phone number to her.<\/p>\n
