Although Adam Thomas was recently diagnosed with a chronic illness, that hasn\u2019t stopped him from enjoying his Strictly Come Dancing experience.<\/p>\n
The former Emmerdale star was told he has rheumatoid arthritis last month after having tests throughout the year.<\/p>\n
Confessing he\u2019s not been able to train properly ahead of the BBC dance show airing, it looks as though the 35-year-old is still giving it his all.<\/p>\n
His older brother and past Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas, has revealed how the family are supporting Adam ahead of his grand debut.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Metro, the actor gave an insight into how Adam is finding his Strictly journey so far.<\/p>\n

He loves a challenge and as a family, we\u2019re really, really proud of him and we\u2019ll be with him until the very end.\u201d<\/p>\n Although it\u2019s not yet been made public who Adam will be coupled up with in the series, the launch show has already been pre-recorded, meaning the actor has been in rehearsals with his partner.<\/p>\n According to Ladbrokes, Adam\u2019s odds to win currently stand at 11\/1 with Angela Scanlon and Bobby Brazier storming ahead at 7\/2.<\/p>\n Don’t miss… <\/strong> <\/p>\n We use your sign-up to provide content in ways you’ve consented to and to improve our understanding of you. More info<\/p>\n When asked if he thinks Adam would be raising the Glitterball this year, Ryan said: \u201cHe\u2019s gonna try his very hardest and he\u2019s gonna enjoy every minute of it. That\u2019s all you can ask from somebody.<\/p>\n \u2018\u201cAs long as he challenges himself and he\u2019s enjoying it, that\u2019s all we want and all we can ask as a family.\u201d<\/p>\n Before his Strictly debut, Adam confessed he signed up for the show in order to get fit and move again, not letting his diagnosis get in the way.<\/p>\n Sharing more about his condition on Instagram, the 35-year-old detailed how his symptoms first started in his knees before moving to his wrists, fingers and ankles.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Touching on the diagnosis in his post, he wrote: \u201cIt really couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m a firm believer of everything happening for a reason.<\/p>\n \u201cI know the journey I’ve been on was meant to happen, to never take small things for granted.<\/p>\n “I know it’s going to be tough and I’ve definitely got my work cut out but I am up for the challenge and can not wait to get on that dancefloor.”<\/p>\n Strictly Come Dancing airs on September 16 on BBC One from 6:35pm<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
