Sir David Jason has secretly had bionic eyes fitted to stop him weeping uncontrollably.<\/p>\n
The Only Fools And Horses icon had tubes fitted behind his eyeballs after he started crying with no explanation. <\/p>\n
The Del Boy legend, famous for catchphrases like, \u201cThis time next year we\u2019ll be millionaires\u201d and \u201cMange tout, Rodney\u201d, even told doctors how to improve the devices.<\/p>\n

Sir David, 83, told fans he\u2019d had a \u201cnew bionic body part\u201d fitted. He said: \u201cI needed a canalicular bypass.<\/p>\n
\u201cStay with me, it\u2019s not quite as painful it sounds. The canal in \u00adquestion was in my eye, where a little blockage had started causing it to get a bit weepy.<\/p>\n

"You can sort that out pretty straightforwardly by having Jones tubes inserted.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sir David said as he talked to an eye specialist \u201cthe ghost of my early years as a jobbing electrician awoke\u201d.<\/p>\n
He explained: \u201cJones tubes do a very good job, but have one drawback \u2013 they tend to come out. I found myself standing there, saying, \u2018You want to get a flange on that, mate\u2019. <\/p>\n

\u201cTwo years later, I was back for a re-fit and the doctor was showing me the latest tubes hot out of the factory \u2013 and they had flanges on, to hold them in place a bit better. <\/p>\n

First-look snaps from his stint in the rebooted series left fans gobsmacked as they found it hard to believe he was so far from Peckham.<\/p>\n

Nicholas plays Alan, a long-term friend of lead character Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) who could be seen drinking pints with the psychiatrist at a bar in Boston.<\/p>\n
