LEGENDARY TV star Sarah Greene will be back on screens today after retreating out of the TV spotlight after her husband's death.

Sarah, 65, looks set to become the new queen of daytime quizzes with her brand new game show, The Finish Lane, with Roman Kemp at 4.30pm on BBC One.

It comes nearly a decade on from Sarah stepping back from the glitz and glam of TV following the incredibly sad passing of her beloved husband, Mike Smith.

Mike ran his own aerial filming firm and Sarah took over the helping of running the day-to-day operations.

The TV icon made a name for herself as one of the most in-demand broadcasters of the 80s and 90s.

Among her biggest roles were Blue Peter and Saturday Superstore.

The star also famously worked alongside ex-TV regular Phillip Schofield before he broke into This Morning.

Mike also enjoyed a career in broadcasting as a BBC Radio 1 DJ and an acclaimed role on Top Of The Pops.

His death came following complications relating to heart surgery at the age of 59.

Having taken to time to focus on his business, Sarah seldom appeared on TV apart from a one-off guest hosting week on This Morning where she reunited with ex-colleague Phillip and hosted alongside Rylan Clark.

The show is challenging and unpredictable; we know that viewers will be hooked!”

Sarah, 65, added: “I’m absolutely thrilled that people can watch The Finish Line soon.

"It’s quickfire, nail-biting and utterly compelling.
