THE ITV boss in charge of the reboot of Big Brother has dropped the biggest hint yet that they'll also do a celebrity spin off.

Head of Reality TV and ITV2, Paul Mortimer, also confirmed there'll be at least two series of the show which will return this autumn.

He said that the casting process and the building of the BB house was nearly complete – and had more detail on what time it would air on ITV2.

Talking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, he said: "It will be a hit. Its looking fantastic. The house looks amazing. We've got a six week run coming up, that's our first foray into it, but it will be back next year of course.

"We have a 10pm show after the 9pm show – so two hours of Big Brother every evening (then) from 11pm you can go to ITVX to watch the live feed into the small hours."

Asked specifically about the prospect of a celebrity spin-off, he said: "We have bought into Big Brother, a lot of us at ITV are BB fans. I can't imagine that we're in it just to do two, six week runs across 2023 and 2024.

"This is the start of it – so just watch this space."

The revival of Big Brother is expected to kick off this October for a six-week run after ITV revealed they had acquired the series last summer.

It will be the first edition of the reality show since 2018 when it came to an end on Channel 5 after 19 regular editions and a whopping 22 celebrity series.

AJ Odudu is teaming up with Will Best to front the reboot which has promised to be diverse in its casting.

</picture>

</picture>

</picture>

</picture>

Bosses have reportedly shunned Love Island wannabes from competing in the programme in favour of 'everyday' individuals from all across the country.

Despite some changes being made, including a new house location, the show's narrator, Marcus Bentley, will be returning to provide his iconic voiceover.

The announcement was also the first confirmation that channel bosses will be airing a further edition of Big Brother next year as part of a two-year deal, a move which has delighted fans.

Read More on Big Brother
