Phil Spencer has spoken out following the tragic death of his parents this weekend.<\/p>\n
It was revealed on Saturday (August 19) that\u00a0Phil\u2019s dad Richard, 89, and mum Anne, 82, died on Friday,\u00a0when a car veered off the road and into a stream.<\/p>\n
Explaining the horrific accident, Phil took to social media with a sweet photo of his late parents.<\/p>\n
\u2018Very sadly both of my amazing parents died on Friday\u2019, the TV presenter and property expert began in the caption.<\/p>\n
\u2018As a family we are all trying to hold onto the fact Mum and Dad went together and that neither will ever have to mourn the loss of the other one. Which is a blessing in itself.<\/p>\n
\u2018Although they were both on extremely good form in the days before (hence the sudden idea to go out to lunch), Mums Parkinson\u2019s and Dads Dementia had been worsening and the long term future was set to be a challenge.<\/p>\n

\u2018So much so that Mum said to me only a week ago that she had resigned to thinking \u201cnow it looks like we will probably go together\u201d. And so they did.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018That was what God had planned for them \u2013 and it was a good plan\u2019, he stated.<\/p>\n
Phil detailed the accident, continuing: \u2018The car, going very slowly, toppled over a bridge on the farm drive, upside down into the river. There were no physical injuries and I very much doubt they would have even fought it \u2013 they would have held hands under the water and quietly slipped away.<\/p>\n
\u2018Their carer was in the car and managed to climb out of a back window so the alarm was raised quite quickly.<\/p>\n
\u2018As many farmers do \u2013 my brother had a penknife and so was able to cut the seat belts \u2013 he pulled them out of the river but they never regained consciousness.<\/p>\n

\u2018Although desperately sad and shocked beyond all belief \u2013 all family are clear that if there can ever be such a thing as having a \u201cgood end\u201d \u2013 this was it.\u2019<\/p>\n
He added: \u2018It feels horrendous right now, but after almost 60 years of marriage \u2013 to die together on the farm they so loved will, I know, be a comfort in the future.\u2019<\/p>\n
Phil signed off: \u2018Mum Dad are together which is precisely where they would have wanted to be. \u2764\ufe0f\u2019<\/p>\n
He was inundated with messages of love an support in the comments, with co-host Kirstie Allsopp writing: \u2018Such a brave and loving statement and so typical of you & your lovely family. So many people have you all in their thoughts and prayers. xxx\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018So sorry Phil \u2764\ufe0f\u2019, Ben Fogle commented.<\/p>\n
\u2018Oh Phil, this is so very sad. My thoughts are with you and your family. May they rest in peace \ud83d\udc9a\u2019, commented Craig Doyle.<\/p>\n

His heart-shattering post comes after Kirstie shared her own tribute when the news broke.<\/p>\n
Taking to Instagram, the TV personality and journalist shared the same photo as Phil did.<\/p>\n
She wrote: \u2018This lovely photograph, recently taken at their home in Kent, is of Anne & David Spencer, I am desperately sad to have to say that they were both killed yesterday in a car accident near their home. <\/p>\n
\u2018They were farmers, animal lovers & devoted parents to Robert, Caryn, Helen & Philip and adored their 8 Grandchildren, the only blessing is that they died together, so will never have to mourn the loss of each other. <\/p>\n
\u2018I suspect many of you may want to join me in sending so much love to Phil and all his family. Please keep them in your thoughts & prayers, Thank you.\u2019<\/p>\n

Confirming the awful news initially, a spokesperson added to The Sun: \u2018Officers attended along with other emergency services and a man and woman in their 80s were taken to a local hospital where they were later pronounced deceased.<\/p>\n
\u2018A third person, a woman in her 60s, was in the vehicle and sustained minor injuries.<\/p>\n
\u2018The next of kin has been informed and a report will now be prepared for the coroner.\u2019<\/p>\n
