Meryl was born in Summit, New Jersey, on June 22, 1949. She is 72 years old.
In 1975, at the age of 26, she completed her Master of Fine Arts in acting at The Yale School of Drama.
She paid her way through the school by waitressing and typing before hitting the New York theatre stage.
The prestigious qualification has paved the road of many to fame, but none compare to the Hollywood success Meryl has achieved.
After making her acting debut on stage in the comic play Trelawny Of The Wells in 1975, the starlet nabbed her first Tony Award nomination within a year.
