The Wheel of Time's Rosamund Pike rushed to hospital after horror accident with real sword

THE Amazon Original series based on the books of Robert Jordan comes to the streaming platform on Friday, 19 November.

Amazon Prime Video's latest sci-fi show The Wheel of Time already brings a massive fan base with it due to the books' popularity, and with Rosamund Pike at the helm, viewers can't wait to get stuck into the show.

At the world premiere of the Wheel of Time at The BFI in London, we spoke to the cast about the new eight-part series.

Daniel Henney plays the role of Lan Mondragoran and is the right-hand man and confidant to Rosamund Pike's Moiraine Damodred.

In an exclusive to the Sun, the actor who used a "real sword" during the show spoke about one incident on set.

When asked if there were any mishaps, he laughing said: "Have you heard anything already?"

Continuing, he said: "The second week of the shoot, Rosamund and I, we mistimed a step. And I sliced back, I use a real sword for balance, and I sliced her hand.

"She screamed, and she fell. And she jumped into an ambulance, and I jumped into a car, and we hit the nearest emergency room in the countryside in the Czech Republic.

"We spent our second week together trying to find an x-ray tech to get her bone x-rayed to make sure our show wasn't totally screwed.

"It was a real bonding moment, no pun intended, but it was a real chance for us to get to know each other."

The commandery and friendship of the cast was visible on the blue carpet as the director, actors, writer and some of the executives stopped to hug and have a quick chat in between interviews.

Commenting on how friendly they all are he said: "It just feels like we are such a family at this point.

"We would go on these trips to Slovenia or Croatia, and it felt like a field trip at high school.

"At the back of the bus and playing games with each other."

Rosamund and Daniel would even find time to "meet late at night in hotel rooms and play Bananagrams."

For those who have not read the 14 books or the prequel novel -The Wheel of Time is a good vs evil story.

Twenty years ago, the chosen one was born, and only they can stop the Dark One.

Rosamund Pike's Moiraine leads five young men and women with the aid of Lan, across treacherous terrain while she figures out which one is the prophesied Dragon reborn.

The Wheel of Time is available to stream on Amazon Prime from Friday 19 November.
