Spoilers: Drugged up Leyla exposes herself in huge tirade in Emmerdale?

Leyla’s (Roxy Shahidi) been finding it increasingly difficult to keep her drug habit a secret in Emmerdale, but an unexpected outburst could see her rumbled.

Her addiction has been getting out of hand as she’s battled to hide the truth about her other life from husband Liam (Jonny McPherson). But having got herself a new source for her cocaine habit – Jai’s old dealer – things are set to escalate.

Leyla is surprised when the dealer finds her at Take A Vow and offers her a tempting offer on some cocaine. She thinks it’s not a deal to be, er, sniffed at and she takes two bags of the powder, unbeknownst to Suzy (Martelle Edinborough).

She gets high and things instantly begin to unravel. At the Hide, coked up Leyla makes a huge announcement – that she plans to pay for everyone’s food. Not the normal behaviour of someone running a struggling business, and the stench of a rat hit’s Suzy’s nostrils. Leyla has outed herself.

Suzy knows exactly what’s going on and berates her pal for using, which immediately gets Leyla on the defensive. Contrary to how Suzy feels, Leyla is pleased with herself that she’s managing to juggle her double life.

But things are about to go south quickly for Leyla when her dealer spots a golden opportunity to use her for his own gain – when he realises she knows his former golden customer Jai, he blackmails her into getting Jai back onto his books.

Things go from bad to worse when Leyla takes out her anger on Suzy by cruelly bringing up the death of Holly Barton and threatening to go public with it. People in glass houses and all that.

With the pressure mounting on her from the dealer and Suzy, Leyla will begin to struggle to keep this double life under wraps, especially as she underestimates how tuned in Liam is to her moods. He’s twigged something is up and has drawn up his own hypothesis – is Leyla’s drug habit about to be discovered?
