ADELE's transformation was never about losing weight, but about feeling better about herself and being a better mom to her seven-year-old son, her friends say.
A source close to the singer talked about how she's gained a new sense of self-confidence after maintaining a strict workout routine and diet.
After the British star was spotted after New Year's with fellow brits Harry Style and James Corden, fans noticed that she had lost so much weight and looked care-free.
A source close to the artist told PEOPLE: "It’s easy to just focus on her physical transformation, but this is really about something bigger,
"She got to the point where she didn’t feel great. She knew she had to change something because she wants to be the healthiest mom possible."
Adele has been keeping an intense routine of doing Pilates and cross-fit.
The source added: “Her whole focus during the weight loss journey has really how been all about how she can be healthier and how can she treat her body better.
"It was never about losing weight. Her weight loss happened because she has cut down drinking and is eating more real food. But she now loves her physical transformation too. She is more confident, dresses differently and she just seems happier overall.”
The informant also talked about what's in store for the singer in 2020: “She is a new woman with the same great sense of humor. She loves her friends and feels a great deal of confidence.”
A fan who had recently talked to Adele about her transformation talked about how she had dropped over 100 pounds in her wellness journey.
The student and fan Lexi Larson said: “She was saying how she had lost something like 100lb. She seemed so happy and she looked amazing. She seemed really confident.”
Lexi had spoken to Adele while the "Hello" interpreter was vacationing in the Caribbean with Harry and James.
Adele debuted a more slim look at Drake's birthday party in October, just weeks after she filed for divorce from Simon Konecki.
She is said to have shed the pounds by working out with US trainer Dalton Wong, who also trains her friend Jennifer Lawrence – and following Joe Wicks's Body Coach plan.
A source told The Sun: “Adele’s been secretly working with these personal trainers.
“She’s not the sort to exercise in front of others, so she follows regimes and plans at home, using their videos and tutorials."
