Sarah Jayne Dunn has admitted to having counselling, after her OnlyFans pictures resulted in her being ‘axed’ from Hollyoaks.

The 40-year-old actress, who played Mandy Richardson, revealed to her followers online that she’s having discussions about the incident with a therapist.

‘Hey, I’ve just come out of my counselling sessions and Lord knows I needed that one this week,’ Sarah said via Instagram stories.

‘I just wanted to say to anyone that is potentially thinking about having counselling or therapy – and if you’re hesitant for any reason – please don’t be.’

Her latest admission comes after the former soap star was fired from Hollyoaks following a dispute with the TV show over her decision to upload risque images to the X-rated subscription service.

Sarah recently expressed how ‘disappointed’ she was with bosses, but insists that she needed to take a stand.

‘The pictures I’ve put on OnlyFans are no more explicit than the sort of things I’ve done in the past for magazines and even for Hollyoaks’ own official calendar,’ she explained.

‘For me, this is about having the right as a woman of 40 years old to decide what is right for me.’

A spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: ‘Hollyoaks is a youth-facing drama with many young viewers, who follow our cast very closely, both in the soap and outside of it.

‘We take our responsibility to our young audience very seriously and therefore the show does not allow any Hollyoaks cast members to be active on certain 18+ websites.’

The spokesperson said that they ‘had hoped we could reach a resolution with Sarah that would allow her to remain in her role as Mandy, but we respect her choice to continue to produce content on OnlyFans’.

‘In the past four years since her return to the show her legacy character has been an integral part of some of our most important storylines and we will be very sad to see her go,’ they added.
