THIS Morning host Phillip Schofield is building his new bachelor pad in the garage of his family’s luxury home.
Seven months after coming out, the star is knocking down one of the parking areas at the £2.6million mansion as part of his future plans.
He is converting a two- bedroom house within the Oxfordshire grounds and plans show a sprawling kitchen will replace one of the garages.
Floor to ceiling windows will oust “existing storage openings”, while an all-new sitting room will be the plush home’s focal point.
There is also a guest bedroom and an en-suite bathroom.
News of the revamp comes four months after the presenter, 58, reportedly moved out of the home he shares with wife of 27 years, Stephanie, and into a London flat.
However, Phillip — who has two grown-up daughters — later took to Twitter to deny the claims. He spent lockdown with his family.
Last night a source said: “Phillip and Steph are getting on really well and are in no rush to make any big decisions.
“This annex can be used by any member of the family at any time — and is a great investment long-term, adding value to the property.”
In February, Phillip — who made his name with Gordon the Gopher on BBC’s Broom Cupboard — gave an emotional interview to co-star Holly Willoughby in which he revealed he was gay.
He told viewers he had wrestled with the decision, adding: “You never know what’s going on in someone’s seemingly perfect life.
“So you won’t know what has been consuming me for the last few years.”
