Only Connect viewers seriously distracted as contestants are introduced - but can you spot why?

FANS of Only Connect were all left seriously distracted as the latest episode of the show kicked off as they noticed that something was amiss.

The BBC Two quiz favourite returned as Victoria Coren Mitchell grilled two teams to find the connections between some seriously difficult questions.

However, it was not the quizzing or the answers that took centre stage for the latest outing but in fact one of the contestants and their introduction on the show.

As Victoria introduced the team Crustaceans, fans were left utterly puzzled as Dennis appeared without a surname.

Unlike his teammates Alex Hardwick and Elia Cugini, Dennis simply went by his first name without any indication as to why.

This prompted fans to be wonder why he had done this and why he had chosen to go against the TV show's norm.

Another asked: "Why does Dennis not have a surname?"

A third was not a fan of the decision as they penned: "The thing I find horrifically disturbing about this is why is Dennis just 'Dennis'."

Whilst a fourth echoed: "Even with everything else on show, it is quite confusing how Dennis apparently doesn't have or approve of a surname #onlyconnect."
