Netflix's You boss reveals 'f***ing bonkers' season 3 has finished filming – and set an 'unprecedented' TV record

NETFLIX's You boss reveals they have wrapped filming for season three and has described it as 'f***ing bonkers'.

The second series of the psychological thriller dropped on Boxing Day 2019 and viewers have been eagerly waiting to see what loveable stalker Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) will get up to next.

We last saw Joe and girlfriend Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti) have a baby and move out of the city to a suburban area.

Since then the cast and crew have not revealed many details about the new installment, but showrunner Sera Gamble took to Twitter to share her thoughts following the end of production.

She tweeted last week: "The episodes are f***ing bonkers and the performances are insanely good.

"I feel privileged to have gotten to witness everyone’s creativity, resilience and kindness."

She added: "I mean, I knew our team was tough and good at their jobs, but holy sh*t did everyone show up for each other. All the way up the Warner’s/Netflix ladder and in every production department."

You season three began filming in Los Angeles in February 2020 and despite the area receiving a number of coronavirus cases at that time, production was able to go ahead.

Sera explained: "We had zero on-set positive Covid tests through a significant and scary surge here in LA. And haven’t had one since.

"Because every single member of cast & crew worked very hard to take care of each other during a time that’s stressful, in a situation that’s tough to control."

She added: "We have administered over 32,000 Covid tests. The production milestone of no cases is 77 days long! We’ve had the lowest overall positivity rate across all comparable productions to date."

The show boss said they were not sure if it would be possible to film a third series a year ago, especially with the type of narrative You possesses.

"I mean… You doesn’t really work if there’s no romance or, y’know, murder-type contact", she said.

However, the cast and crew made an effort to look after each other's on set, especially as everyone was "going through something unprecedented and uncertain that makes their lives more challenging."
