Macaulay Culkin shares bleak look at 'Home Alone 2019' remake after Disney announce plans for reboot

HOME Alone's Macaulay Culkin has shared a bleak portrayal of what his character Kevin might look like now after Disney announced plans to remake the classic movie.

Bloated Macaulay paints a picture of cute Kevin as a couch potato, with his belly hanging out and takeaway boxes scattered around him.

He clutches a bowl of noodles in the snap and can barely open his eyes to watch the laptop on his knees.

Half-eaten takeaway boxes are scattered around him and Macaulay strategically placed a festive pillow at the edge of his snap, to hammer the point home.

It's clear that Disney has come under fire from Home Alone's biggest star, who captioned his photo on Instagram: "This is what an updated Home Alone would actually look like."

The service revealed plans to reboot the movie for its new streaming service Disney+ which kicks off in the US in November, but most fans think it's a terrible idea.

But there's little chance of them stopping it from happening as Disney now owns the rights to the franchise after it bought the film studio 20th Century Fox.

The festive favourite followed the adventures of young Kevin and his family who accidentally leave him behind when they dash off on their Christmas breaks.

The first in the franchise was released in December 1990, followed by sequel Home Alone 2: Lost In New York in 1992.

Macaulay was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor following the first movie.

The franchise returned in 1997 but with Alex D. Linz at the helm as Alex Pruitt.

The streaming service will debut in the US in November and is expected to arrive in the UK next year.

It will bring more than 7,500 TV episodes and 400 movies, as well as flicks from the Star Wars and Marvel worlds in its attempt to triumph over rivals Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Fans aren't quite sold on Disney's plans to remake Home Alone, with one tweeting: "Disney is going to remake Home Alone for its new streaming service! No!

"You don’t force a Home Alone film out for THAT! You force it out for a laughable Christmas goddamn it. And I can already feel how bad it is going to be. I can see it in my minds it!"

Another slammed: "Disney is re-booting Home Alone? (DON'T DO IT, DISNEY.)"
